100 young British entrepreneurs make inaugural Hurun UK Under 30s 2022
Rupert Hoogewerf:
“The Hurun UK Under 30s is a celebration of the most successful young entrepreneurs in the country, the most likely to build the homegrown billion-dollar businesses of the future. I hope the Hurun UK Under 30s can inspire the next generation of ambitious entrepreneurs.
“The Hurun UK Under 30s have built businesses worth over £10bn, bringing the average to £100mn. Wow! Although this is distorted by the likes of Hopin, Gymshark and Marshmallow, there are probably a dozen or more with valuations of over £100mn.
You can safely say they are the most likely billionaires of the future, especially as founder teams and investors are becoming more experienced at knowing how to focus on value creation over sales.”
Night of the Awards
The evening of Monday, 17 October 2022, Rupert Hoogewerf, Hurun Report chairman and chief researcher, hosted the inaugural Hurun UK Under30s Young Entrepreneurs to Watch Night 2022 in London.
The night was set in the beautiful Nobu Hotel in London and was a celebration of the 100 UK founders that made it onto the UK’s inaugural Under30s list.
The Hurun UK Under30s Young Entrepreneurs to Watch had to have been aged 30 or under before September 2022. From the 100 that made our list, several joined us at the evening of awards including Ed Beccle, the youngest founder on the list at 23 and having founded the very successful religious app, Glorify. We also had Darcy Laceby, co-founder of the anti-aging brand, Absolute Collagen and finally Hugo Tilmouth, CEO and founder of ChargedUp.
The evening saw an extremely interesting panel discussion from some of our founders as well as some excellent key note speeches from Baroness Virginia Bottomley from Odgers Bernstein and a talk from Guy Podjarny, founder of the UK Unicorn, Snyk.
