Hurun's Story

Hurun UK is a media and research company that promotes entrepreneurship through its lists and events. Established in 1999, Hurun Report Inc. has grown into a leading research platform based in London, Shanghai and Mumbai, best-known for its China and India rich lists, and with 200 employees today. Hurun Report generates 8 billion views globally on its brand each year. We are proud to have grown to become the world’s largest compiler of lists for unicorns (+$1 billion) and future unicorns: Gazelles ($500-$1bn) and Cheetahs ($300mn-$500mn).

For young founders we have several lists through the Uth series. The Uth Series contains three categories: the Under30s, Under35s and Under40s lists. These lists represent the best of young entrepreneurs who have founded businesses worth US$10mn, US$50mn and US$100mn respectively. Hurun started the Under30s series in China 7 years ago and has since expanded it to India, Australia, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, South Korea, Spain and Germany over the last three years. In the UK we have covered the Under30s 2022 list and the Under30s and Under35s 2023 lists.

Hurun is a global corporation with headquarters in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Mubai and London. Consisting in over 150 employees, 100 of those are based in China and 50 in India. The UK is our newest office with a team of 3.

Rich List Series

The Hurun Global Rich List Series is a ranking of the US dollar billionaires in the world. This is Hurun's most successful list and has been running for 13 years globally, 25 years in China and 10 years in India.

Global500 Series

The Hurun Global 500 Series is a list of the 500 most valuable non-state-controlled companies in the world. Companies are ranked according to their value, defined as market capitalisation for listed companies and valuations for non-listed companies. This list is in its 4th year .

Startup Series

Hurun puts out the annual Global Unicorn Index for companies valued at US$1bn+. Hurun has termed a unicorn to be a ranking of the world’s start-ups founded in the 2000s, worth at least a billion dollars and not yet listed on a public exchange. Hurun also creates two global future unicorn lists: Gazelles and Cheetahs. Gazelles are non-listed start-ups from US$500mn and Cheetahs have valuations from US$300mn.

We release 3 annual lists in th UK as part of our Uth Series: Under30s, Under35s and Under40s.

UK Under30s

The Under30s represent the very best young entrepreneurs in the UK. To qualify, U30s must have created or co-founded a business with a social impact and valued today at around US$10mn or more, i.e. sizeable and an amazing achievement to reach before the age of 30.

UK Under35s

The Under35s represent the future business leaders of tomorrow. To qualify, U35s must have created or co-founded a business with a social impact and valued today at around US$50mn or more, i.e. pretty sizeable and an amazing achievement to reach before the age of 35.

UK Under40s

The Under40s represent the most successful entrepreneurs in the country. To qualify, U40s must have created or co-founded a business with a social impact and valued today at around US$100mn or more, i.e. very sizeable and an amazing achievement to reach before the age of 40.
